Cyprus to introduce new measures against inflation in upcoming Cabinet meeting

Cyprus Minister of Finance Mάκης Kεραυνός announced that a new package of measures to combat inflation will be presented at the next Cabinet meeting. Speaking after a meeting with the President and various trade unions, he emphasized that the government continues to strengthen support for all social groups, especially vulnerable ones, amid ongoing crises.

Keρανός highlighted that Cyprus, through its social policies, has surpassed many other European countries in addressing inflation and could serve as a model in this regard. The measures under consideration include targeted and, where necessary, broader support initiatives to tackle widespread economic challenges.

Addressing an upcoming protest outside the Finance Ministry, Keρανός affirmed the democratic right to demonstrate and expressed openness to citizens expressing their demands and emotions. He also noted that the government’s existing measures on energy prices, implemented over the past two years, are more effective than those taken by other European nations.
