Five arrested during island-wide overnight police operations involving multiple offences
Police arrested five individuals during overnight operations across the island for various offences including public insult, refusing to provide personal details, driving under the influence of drugs, being drunk and disorderly, malicious damage, common assault, and drug possession. During the operations, authorities stopped and checked 885 drivers and 397 passengers while inspecting 62 premises, which led to 10 reports being filed. Traffic enforcement was particularly rigorous, with 309 fines issued—99 for speeding—and eight vehicles were impounded.
Additionally, police conducted 391 breathalyser tests resulting in 22 reports. One preliminary drug test returned a positive result, indicating ongoing vigilance against impaired driving.
