ArtCargo Performing Arts Festival debuts in Nicosia with international street performances from October 16 to 25
The ArtCargo Performing Arts Festival is set to launch its first edition in Nicosia from October 16 to 25, bringing nine productions and 43 performances by artists from nine countries to the streets, squares, and parks of Cyprus’ capital. The festival offers large-scale outdoor spectacles and intimate site-specific works, transforming public spaces into vibrant places of encounter and imagination for locals and visitors alike.
Previously held in Limassol in 2025, where it attracted nearly 40,000 attendees, ArtCargo is now expanding its reach by involving Cypriot artists and international collaborations. Highlights in Nicosia include a new media art project featuring choreography by Panos Malactos, a contemporary circus show by OLO Company, and a spectacular tightrope act by French company Basinga. The festival also features a Youth Programme with world No. 1 trickline athlete Kanon Ito, who will perform and offer a masterclass to young participants.
Supported by VF Foundation, Exness, Mellow, and bbf, ArtCargo emphasizes accessibility by offering free admission to all events. Through its vision that art belongs everywhere, the festival breaks down barriers by presenting performances in everyday urban spaces, fostering a unique dialogue between art, the city, and its diverse communities.
