Primary school pupils from Paphos and Yeroskipou to visit Achelia animal shelter for World Animal Day
Primary school pupils from Paphos and Yeroskipou will visit an animal shelter in Achelia on Tuesday to celebrate World Animal Day. The event, organized jointly by the Animal Welfare Commissioner’s office and the municipalities of Paphos and Yeroskipou, will run from 9am to 11am at the shelter managed by the Animal Protection Association.
Students and teachers from the first primary school of Yeroskipou and the second primary school of Paphos will tour the shelter, learn about animal welfare, and meet animals under care. The visit aims to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership, adoption of stray and abandoned animals, and the importance of volunteers and shelters in animal protection.
Animal Welfare Commissioner Elias Myrianthos, Yeroskipou’s mayor and deputy mayor, Nikos Palios and Andreas Siikkis, along with acting Paphos mayor, Angelos Onesiforou, are expected to attend the educational event.
