University of Nicosia launches Fall 2026 free MOOC on Blockchain and Digital Assets with advanced paid track

The University of Nicosia has announced the Fall 2026 edition of its flagship Free MOOC on Blockchain and Digital Assets, the first university course of its kind globally and a leading initiative since its 2014 launch. Over 150,000 learners from 120 countries have participated in this course, which offers comprehensive coverage of blockchain technology, Bitcoin, Ethereum, decentralized finance, and tokenisation.

The course features two learning tracks: a free Introductory Track spanning eight weeks, providing access to core blockchain foundations, quizzes, live Q&A sessions, and a certificate of completion; and an Advanced Track running an additional four weeks for €199. The Advanced Track offers deeper content including NFTs, regulation, blockchain scaling, and integration with AI and IoT. Students completing the advanced course receive hardware wallets, scholarships for a postgraduate MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency, and blockchain-verifiable certification.

Taught by UNIC faculty and industry experts, the MOOC also includes guest lectures from notable blockchain professionals. Registration is open for the free Introductory Track, with opportunities to upgrade to the Advanced Track. The program aims to maintain accessible, up-to-date blockchain education aligned with evolving regulatory frameworks and market demands.
