Presidential Palace in Cyprus Opens Guided Tours to Showcase Art and Antiquities
For the first time, the public can explore the art and archaeological collections at the presidential palace through a new guided visit programme. The initiative, launched by First Lady Philippa Karsera Christodoulides, will begin on October 3, coinciding with Cyprus's Independence Day. It features the exhibition “Cyprus: the World, the Place, the Word, the Matter,” which includes works by renowned Cypriot artists and rare antiquities dating back to the fourth millennium BC.
Visitors will also have access to the interactive “Time Machine” app, linking the collection to recent Cypriot history. Tours, led by curators and conducted in Greek, will be limited to 150 participants on the opening day, with reservations required on a first-come, first-served basis. The initiative aims to enhance public access to the presidential palace and increase awareness of Cyprus’s cultural heritage.
In addition to public tours, a new educational programme will allow primary school children to visit and engage with Cypriot art and history through tailored activities. The programme is a collaboration between the presidency, education ministry, and deputy culture ministry, with school visits running from October 2026 to June 2027.
