Nine Cypriot Firms Highlight Maritime Innovation at SMM Hamburg to Boost Island’s Shipping Profile

Cyprus made a significant mark at SMM Hamburg, one of the world’s leading maritime technology trade fairs, by showcasing nine Cypriot companies at its first-ever official national pavilion. Held from September 1 to 4, the event attracted over 50,000 visitors and 2,300 exhibitors from 66 countries, offering Cyprus a prime platform to promote its maritime industry.

The pavilion featured a broad spectrum of maritime services and technologies, including AI, automation, satellite communications, and ship maintenance, strengthening the international visibility of Cypriot businesses. A special "Cyprus Maritime Innovation Event" was also organised, highlighting the island’s advantages as a maritime hub and fostering discussions on innovation and sustainability.

This initiative, led by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Cyprus Trade Centre in Berlin, is part of a strategic drive to enhance Cyprus’s global shipping presence. The participation enabled Cypriot firms to engage in valuable business meetings and explore new partnerships, reinforcing the country’s reputation for maritime excellence and innovation.
