Aradippou municipality adopts AI system to enhance fire detection after major industrial fires
Aradippou municipality has partnered with Neuranet Solutions to implement the PyroGuard AI system, an artificial intelligence technology aimed at early fire detection. This initiative comes in response to two significant fires that struck the town’s industrial areas earlier this year. The AI system will enhance monitoring capabilities by instantly spotting fires and alerting emergency services promptly.
As per the agreement, seven monitoring stations along with a radio repeater will be installed across key locations including the municipal boundaries, industrial zones, the Waste Management Unit, town hall, and the Free Trade Zone. The contract was signed by Aradippou Mayor Christodoulos Partou and Neuranet Solutions CEO William Demetriou.
The municipality's decision followed a major fire in June at a frozen food factory that posed risk to surrounding properties, and another in August at an industrial bakery causing extensive damage. These incidents highlighted the urgent need for improved fire protection to safeguard the community and local industry.
