Wizz Air ranks second-best airline in Central Europe at 2026 Skytrax Awards
Wizz Air has been named the second-best airline in Central Europe at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, reflecting high passenger satisfaction with the low-cost carrier's services. The award recognises the efforts of Wizz Air's over 10,000 employees and comes amid the airline's ongoing €14 billion Customer First Compass programme to enhance the passenger experience.
Operating more than 1,000 routes across nearly 50 countries with a fleet of 273 aircraft, Wizz Air carried 68.6 million passengers in 2025. The airline's recent expansions include the launch of a new Larnaca-Madrid route, increased frequencies from Cyprus, and the extension of its Pilot Academy to Cypriot candidates.
Wizz Air's Chief Commercial Officer Ian Malin credited the airline's staff and loyal passengers for the award. The airline continues to invest in operational performance, digital self-service options, and low fares while strengthening customer support and expanding its network throughout Europe and beyond.
