Italy-Cyprus Maritime Business Forum to Boost Shipping and Port Cooperation

Italy and Cyprus will strengthen maritime cooperation at the Italy-Cyprus Maritime Business Forum held in Limassol on October 9. The event gathers government officials, shipowners, and industry leaders to explore investment opportunities, sustainable port development, and international shipping corridors, focusing on enhancing bilateral commercial ties and maritime innovation.

The forum features three panel discussions addressing sustainable port integration, shipping management, and the strategic India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). Participants include high-level representatives from both countries' maritime sectors and European institutions, aiming to foster partnerships in shipbuilding, logistics, green technologies, and infrastructure development.

With shipping accounting for 7% of Cyprus' GDP and Italy's leadership in shipbuilding and superyacht markets, the forum seeks to translate these complementary strengths into concrete cooperation projects. Italian Ambassador Antonella Cavallari highlighted the sea's role in connecting both nations, emphasizing the potential for an ambitious economic partnership through maritime collaboration.
