Italy-Cyprus Maritime Business Forum to Boost Cooperation in Limassol

The Italy-Cyprus Maritime Business Forum will take place on October 9 at the DP World Terminal in Limassol, aiming to foster new cooperation opportunities between Italian and Cypriot maritime sectors. The event, promoted by the Embassy of Italy in Nicosia, will cover sustainable ports, fleet management technologies, and international maritime corridors such as IMEC.

The forum will bring together shipowners, port operators, insurers, and service providers from both countries to build partnerships aligned with EU green transition goals. Italy leads globally in shipbuilding exports and superyacht orders, while Cyprus is a significant international shipping hub, with the maritime sector contributing approximately 7% to its GDP.

Key participants include Italy’s ambassador to Cyprus, Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis, Limassol mayor Yiannis Armeftis, and European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans Costas Kadis. The event is organized with support from industry chambers, Invest Cyprus, and DP World, highlighting the strategic importance of maritime cooperation between the two nations.
