Man in Limassol pleads not guilty to threatening daughters over make-up
A 46-year-old man accused of threatening his two daughters over their use of make-up pleaded not guilty to six charges at Limassol District Court on Wednesday. The allegations include sending threatening videos and messages to his 19-year-old daughter through a mobile app, warning of harm if he saw them wearing make-up again.
The case arose after the daughter filed a complaint citing psychological pressure from her father, who disapproved of their lifestyle in Cyprus. Charges include harassment, threats, mental harm, psychological violence, and illegal stay in the country, as he had been living in Cyprus without authorization since July 2023 after his asylum application was denied.
The accused remains in custody, with a hearing scheduled for the end of October.
