Cyprus Construction Sector Sees 18.3% Rise in Building Permits in June 2026

Cyprus’ construction sector continued its robust growth in June 2026, with 751 building permits issued, marking an 18.3% increase compared to the same month last year. These permits corresponded to a combined value of €469.5 million and covered 394,717 square metres, facilitating the development of 2,122 dwelling units.

During the first six months of 2026, building permits reached 4,401, up by 29.5% from 3,399 in the previous year, while their total value soared by 48.2% to €2.57 billion. The authorized floor area expanded significantly by 47.1% to 2.10 million square metres, and the number of planned homes surged 67.8% to 11,100 units.

These figures, reported by Cyprus’ Statistical Service (Cystat), reflect sustained expansion and heightened activity within the island’s construction industry, underlining its critical role in Cyprus’ economic development.
