More public tours of presidential palace art exhibition considered after successful first event
Following the successful inaugural public art tour at the presidential palace on Independence Day, officials are considering additional viewing opportunities. The first tour featured a guided exhibition titled Cyprus, the World, the Place, the Word, the Matters, showcasing works by prominent Cypriot artists and ancient artifacts.
First Lady Philippa Karsera, who spearheaded the initiative to open symbolic national buildings to the public, expressed satisfaction with the event and noted growing interest that may lead to tours on International Museum Day. The exhibition highlights Cyprus's rich cultural heritage, including pieces from notable artists and rare antiquities dating back to the 4th millennium BC.
In the coming days, specially organized tours will start for sixth-grade students, aiming to educate the younger generation. Deputy Minister of Culture Klea Papaellina praised the presidential palace as a "living museum of great artists," emphasizing the importance of sharing Cyprus's artistic and historical treasures with a wider audience.
