99 fines issued for helmet non-compliance during Cyprus islandwide traffic campaign

During a recent traffic enforcement campaign across Cyprus, police issued 99 fines to riders for failing to wear protective helmets. The operation targeted motorbikes, mopeds, bicycles, and personal mobility devices, aiming to improve road safety and prevent accidents.

In addition to helmet violations, officers recorded 305 other traffic offenses, including nine cases of driving without a licence. Seizures included 17 personal mobility devices and nine motorbikes. Since the start of the year, police have noted a total of 1,360 helmet-related offences by motorcyclists, 381 by cyclists, and 1,845 by personal mobility device users.

Authorities emphasized that traffic checks will continue around the clock to promote safer and more responsible behavior among all road users across the island.
