Man denies premeditated murder in stabbing of Yiannis Argyrou in Limassol garage
A 52-year-old man accused of murdering 45-year-old Yiannis Argyrou in Limassol denied premeditated murder during court proceedings. Argyrou was stabbed 19 times in the garage of his apartment block on May 4, 2025, dying from haemorrhagic shock caused by multiple organ injuries. A café worker testified the accused arrived sweating heavily and agitated, repeatedly speaking about honour and dignity.
Forensic experts revealed the accused refused consent for examination, and police investigation continues. Evidence also included a statement from the apartment block’s management chairman, who responded to screams and found Argyrou's body, later calling authorities. The prosecution is close to concluding its case, with testimonies pending from the case investigator and the accused's partner, who previously stated the accused admitted killing Argyrou and displayed the murder weapon.
