Central Bank of Cyprus launches tender for three-year insurance contracts with option for extension

The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) has initiated a tender (19/2026) to appoint insurance providers for contracts initially set to cover three years, with an option to extend for an additional three years. The tender process involves a competitive negotiation phase, focusing on both the quality of proposals, which will account for 70% of the assessment, and pricing, making up the remaining 30%.

The tender is segmented into separate insurance categories, allowing companies to apply for one or multiple sections. Interested providers must first submit applications and required documents to the CBC before being invited to submit initial offers. These offers will form the basis for subsequent negotiations.

CBC has made tender documents available electronically since October 2, 2026, and companies must provide designated contact details to ensure they receive updates or clarifications. All applications must be delivered in sealed envelopes to the CBC’s tender box in Nicosia by the deadline specified in the tender documents. The bank also plans to shorten the deadline for submitting initial offers through mutual agreement with participating companies.
