Police conduct extensive night patrols across Cyprus with 12 arrests and 34 drink-driving offenses reported
Law enforcement across Cyprus undertook widespread patrols during the past night, targeting urban areas to prevent serious crimes and maintain public order. The operations led to the arrest of 12 individuals for various offenses, including illegal stay, drug possession, drunk driving, intoxication, and causing disturbances.
In total, 724 vehicles were stopped and 924 people checked, alongside 76 inspections of businesses, resulting in 13 complaints. Traffic violations were notably high with 319 citations issued, including 113 for speeding, 34 for alcohol-related offenses following 385 breath tests, and 26 vehicles were impounded.
