Police arrest four during island-wide crime prevention operations

Police arrested four individuals overnight during coordinated crime-prevention operations conducted across the island. The arrests included three people for illegal possession of tobacco products. Officers carried out organized patrols in urban areas aimed at preventing serious crime, maintaining public order, and enhancing public safety.

During these operations, 529 drivers and 175 passengers were stopped and checked, while 42 business premises inspections led to two violation reports. Traffic checks resulted in 273 reports for various offenses, including 139 for speeding, and eight vehicles were impounded. Additionally, alcohol tests conducted on 81 individuals resulted in eight reports, while two positive preliminary drug tests were recorded out of five conducted.

Police assured that these operations will continue daily with increased patrols, targeted checks, and rapid response efforts to prevent and suppress crime, protect residents, and uphold public order.
