Water levels rise in Larnaca and Famagusta reservoirs compared to last year
Water levels in all four reservoirs across the Larnaca and Famagusta districts have increased compared to the same period last year, according to the Water Development Department. Kalavasos reservoir is now 21.8% full, up from 12.9%, storing 3.734 million cubic meters of water.
Lefkara reservoir is at 17.3% capacity with 2.402 million cubic meters stored, up from 14.8% last year. Dipotamos reservoir stands at 25.9% full, an increase from 22.9%, holding 4.017 million cubic meters. Achna reservoir remains the least full but showed improvement, at 5.6% capacity compared to 2.3% the previous year, with 0.380 million cubic meters of water.
These increased water levels suggest a positive trend in water storage for the region, potentially easing concerns over water supply in the coming months.
