Demetra Holdings warns of lower nine-month 2026 profits due to Cyprus Stock Exchange losses
Demetra Holdings Plc, a Cypriot investment firm, has issued a profit warning for the first nine months of 2026, expecting lower profits compared to the same period in 2025. The company attributed the decline primarily to anticipated losses from its investments on the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE), contrasting with gains recorded in the previous year.
Despite the expected reduction in overall profits, Demetra highlighted a gain exceeding €6 million resulting from the recognition of negative goodwill from a subsidiary acquisition. This gain was already reflected in the company’s first half 2026 financial results released in September.
In addition to the profit warning, Demetra also announced a new share buyback on September 30, purchasing 4,400 shares at €1.38 each through the Cyprus Investment & Securities Corp Ltd, authorized during its annual general meeting in June 2026.
