Averof Neophytou pledges loyalty and outlines vision after announcing 2028 presidential bid
Averof Neophytou, who recently declared his candidacy for the 2028 presidential elections in Cyprus, assured the public that he would "never betray" them. In a heartfelt message shared on his personal WhatsApp channel, Neophytou expressed gratitude for the widespread support he has received from across Cyprus, the diaspora, various political backgrounds, and his party, Disy.
Highlighting the ongoing deadlock in efforts to resolve the Cyprus problem, Neophytou noted that with the imminent end of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ term, the issue remains unresolved despite high-level talks. He emphasized that his campaign will focus on tackling the country’s major challenges, improving opportunities for young people, fostering a fairer society, and prioritizing the reunification of Cyprus.
Neophytou’s commitment to his compatriots reflects his determination to move beyond political stalemates and build a united future for the nation and its children.
