Cyprus and Greece are intensifying their economic cooperation with a focus on boosting investment and jointly exploring opportunities in third markets, Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos announced following talks with Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Harry Theoharis in Nicosia. The discussions emphasized expanding beyond bilateral trade to encourage collaboration between companies from both countries in new international markets.
Trade between Cyprus and Greece is already significant, with bilateral goods trade reaching €3.3 billion in 2025. The meeting highlighted the importance of this economic partnership alongside reaffirming broader strategic cooperation, including dialogue on regional developments and Greece’s upcoming presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2027.
Theoharis’ visit, running from September 14 to 15, included meetings with key figures from Cyprus’ economic sector, aiming to identify new cooperation areas and support businesses in expanding abroad. Both countries are committed to strengthening economic diplomacy, investment, and joint business outreach to further deepen their robust relationship.
