Cyprus launches four-year incentive scheme offering up to €35,000 for conferences and corporate events

Cyprus has introduced a new four-year incentive scheme running from 2026 to 2029 to attract conferences, corporate events, and international competitions to the island. Organisers can receive financial support up to €35,000, with the goal of boosting tourism beyond the peak summer season and drawing higher-value visitors. This scheme provides transparency by informing organisers of available funding before event planning, aiding in competitive bidding processes.

The programme, with an annual budget of €150,000, covers a range of events including corporate conferences, academic meetings, incentive trips, international competitions, and sales workshops. Specific support levels vary, with up to €35,000 for corporate conferences, €25,000 for nonprofit and academic events, €20,000 for incentive trips, and €10,000 for international competitions. Events must have a minimum of 75% international participants, and locations outside peak seasons or in rural and remote areas receive additional incentives.

Applications are submitted electronically to the Tourism Deputy Ministry, with eligibility open to various organisations excluding those mainly state-funded or EU programme partner meetings. The scheme aims to make Cyprus a more competitive destination by allowing longer planning horizons and guaranteed support, thereby encouraging year-round tourism growth and international exposure.
