Despite concerns raised, the authority cited staffing shortages for prolonged delays and decided against public announcements upon rejection.
Officials maintained that Angelides was within the inquiry's scope from the beginning but noted he left a critical meeting once it was clear his conduct would be scrutinized. Attorney-General George Savvides later affirmed that all necessary investigations had been completed, effectively closing the cases against Angelides without further public updates.
