Cyprus Labour Costs Increase by 3.8% in Q2 2026
Cyprus's total hourly labour cost increased by 3.8% in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to preliminary data from the Statistical Service. Wages and salaries per hour worked rose by 3.9%, while non-wage costs increased by 3.6% year-on-year.
When compared to the first quarter of 2026, total hourly labour costs rose 1% after seasonal adjustment. Similarly, wages and salaries per hour increased by 1%, and hourly non-wage costs went up by 0.9% on the same adjusted basis. These figures reflect ongoing upward pressure on labour expenses in Cyprus during the first half of the year.
