Seventeen-year-old Cypriot discus thrower Marina Hadjicosta has been nominated for the 2026 European Women’s Rising Star of the Year award, announced by the European Athletics Federation. This prestigious award recognizes the continent's most promising young athletes.
The winner will be determined through a voting process that includes the public, member federations, media, and a European Athletics committee, each contributing 25 percent to the final decision. Voting is currently open until September 28.
The top three nominees in each category will be announced on October 1, with the winners revealed at the Golden Tracks Awards ceremony in Lausanne on October 24.
