Cyprus cooperative bank reports online scam using fake websites during share offering
The Pancyprian Cooperative Society for Participation and Promotion of Cooperativism has reported an attempted online scam to the police involving fake websites and social media accounts impersonating the company. These unauthorized sites falsely claimed to assist people in purchasing shares of the new cooperative bank currently raising capital in Cyprus.
The company emphasized that it has authorized no third parties to mediate transactions or offer assistance and identified its official website and dedicated share platform as the only legitimate channels for share purchases. The public share offering began on July 22 and runs until November 17, with a minimum investment of €100.
Authorities and the company urged the public to be cautious about unofficial sources and to avoid sharing personal or financial information through unverified platforms. Support and verification can only be obtained through the corporation’s official contact numbers and email address.
