Cyprus police arrest 39 illegal residents in nationwide operation
Cyprus police arrested 39 individuals residing illegally in the country during a nationwide operation conducted on Sunday. Twelve of those arrested are already scheduled for deportation, while the remaining 27 have been transferred to shelters for further processing. Authorities are coordinating with the deputy migration ministry to arrange repatriation to the individuals' countries of origin. Since the beginning of this year, police raids targeting illegal residents have led to the deportation or repatriation of approximately 6,460 people from Cyprus.
