14 arrested in police crackdown including residence violations and drink-driving offenses
Fourteen individuals were arrested during a series of police operations conducted on Sunday evening. The arrests were made on suspicion of various offenses including residing in Cyprus without proper residence documents, handling stolen goods, and drink-driving.
The police stopped 545 vehicles and checked 680 people during the operation, while also inspecting 42 premises which led to one citation being issued. Additionally, 13 vehicles were seized and 254 alcohol tests were performed, resulting in three drivers found to be over the legal alcohol limit.
Preliminary drug tests were conducted on five individuals, with one testing positive. In total, 155 speeding citations were issued, highlighting the broad scope of the police enforcement efforts during the operation.
