Construction Worker Dies After Electrocution at Peyia Building Site

A 52-year-old construction worker, Konstantinos Posnagkov, tragically died on Saturday after being electrocuted at a building site in Peyia. The accident occurred around 2 pm when two 11,000-volt overhead electricity cables were severed due to incorrect handling of a concrete pump arm during the pouring of ready-mix concrete.

Posnagkov, originally from Georgia and holding a Greek passport, suffered an electric shock, lost consciousness, and was rushed to Paphos General Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead. Authorities including the police, the Department of Labour Inspection, and the Electricity Authority of Cyprus have cordoned off the scene and launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
