Police conduct targeted operations across Cyprus with six arrests and over 300 traffic violations recorded
Cyprus police carried out extensive targeted operations across urban areas last night, resulting in the arrest of six individuals for offenses including drug possession, illegal stay, and drunk driving. The operations aimed to prevent serious crimes, maintain public order, and enhance community safety.
During the night, officers stopped 1,001 vehicles and checked 1,310 people. Additionally, 49 premises were inspected, leading to eight violations reported. Traffic enforcement produced 308 fines for various offenses, with speed limit breaches accounting for 158 of these. Alcohol-related driving violations included 25 fines from 259 sobriety checks.
Authorities have also initiated investigations into ten traffic-related cases and impounded ten vehicles. The police emphasize that such preventive and enforcement activities will continue daily, with increased presence and targeted actions to protect citizens and uphold public order throughout Cyprus.
