Cyprus and Bahrain expand maritime cooperation with new MoU following high-level talks
Cyprus and Bahrain have signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deepen maritime cooperation, covering areas such as safety, training, search and rescue, and innovation. The agreement was formalized during a bilateral meeting in Manama between Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis and Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
The MoU aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices and promotes the establishment of joint working groups to implement specific cooperation initiatives. Accompanying Hadjimanolis at the signing were Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Stavros Stavrou and Cyprus’ ambassador to Bahrain Andreas Eliades.
This development builds on recent high-level discussions between Cyprus and Bahrain and seeks to leverage maritime collaboration as a platform for expanding broader bilateral business and strategic ties between the two nations.
