President Christodoulides announces two new housing schemes to support young families
President Nikos Christodoulides has unveiled two new housing initiatives aimed at providing additional support to young people and families in Cyprus. The first scheme allows families to utilize their existing property to create additional housing, such as building a new floor or extending their current home, even if the allowed building coefficient has been exhausted. The second scheme involves offering government land to new families at just 25% of market value, initially providing 570 plots across all districts.
With over 300 million euros invested in more than 10 housing plans so far, the government is focusing on affordable housing by streamlining permit processes and encouraging partnerships with the private sector. President Christodoulides emphasized that housing is a key priority for the administration, aiming to ensure housing security, stability, and future prospects for young Cypriots and families.
These efforts are part of a broader vision to increase the number of homes, speed up licensing procedures, and provide practical solutions for citizens.
