Cyprus posts third-highest 3.5% rise in EU agricultural output prices in Q2 2026
Cyprus experienced a 3.5 percent annual increase in agricultural output prices in the second quarter of 2026, ranking third highest in the European Union, according to Eurostat data. This contrasts with the EU average, where agricultural output prices fell by 5.8 percent year-on-year, marking the third consecutive quarter of decline across the bloc.
Only Croatia and Malta saw stronger growth in output prices, each recording a 3.9 percent rise. Cyprus was among just seven EU countries to report an annual increase in agricultural output prices, while 20 countries experienced declines, with Denmark and Ireland facing the steepest drops.
Meanwhile, agricultural input prices rose across all EU countries by an average of 4.7 percent, reversing prior stability. Cyprus notably saw rising output prices despite this EU-wide increase in production costs, indicating a unique price environment for Cypriot agricultural producers during this period.
