Twin brothers targeted in Cyprus murder-for-hire plot linked to Kinahan cartel
Two twin brothers from the UK, former MMA fighters Jamie and Aaron Small, have been identified as targets of an international murder-for-hire plot uncovered in Cyprus. Local authorities launched a multi-jurisdictional hunt after the brothers disappeared following the disruption of the assassination scheme.
Eight suspects were arrested across Europe in connection with the plot, including individuals linked to the McCarthy-Dundon gang and believed to have ties to the Kinahan organised crime cartel. The hit was allegedly commissioned by senior Kinahan figures outsourcing violence through smaller criminal networks.
The operation was exposed when an undercover Danish police officer posed as a hitman responding to an encrypted contract offering payment in cryptocurrency. Despite arrests and seizures of weapons and equipment, none of the suspects have been charged as investigations continue, and the motive behind targeting the Small brothers remains unclear.
