Cyprus Extends Fuel Excise Duty Cut Until November 2026 to Ease High Prices

Cyprus’s Council of Ministers has approved an extension of the excise duty reduction on petrol and diesel, lowering the tax by 8.33 cents per litre until November 30, 2026. This measure was initially set to expire on September 17, but the government extended it to provide ongoing financial relief amid high fuel prices.

Finance Minister Makis Keravnos confirmed that the excise duty cut applies equally to both petrol and diesel. He emphasized that the decision underscores the government’s commitment to support households and businesses facing elevated energy costs.

The Ministry of Finance will continue to monitor international energy price trends to adjust policies accordingly, ensuring continued support and stability for consumers and the economy.
