Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation launches illustration contest for award-winning children's book
The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation (BOCCF) has announced an illustration contest for the book As the Lady Says… by Maria Papandreou, winner of a children’s and young adult writing award. The book, aimed at readers aged 11 and older, deals with themes of loss, memory, and human resilience through a child’s perspective, and is set to be published and distributed by the BOCCF in 2026.
The contest is open to Cypriot and Greek illustrators and visual artists residing in Cyprus or abroad. Past winners of BOCCF illustration competitions may also enter if two years have passed since their last award. Entries must be submitted by October 30, 2026, and will be judged by a four-member panel appointed by the Cultural Foundation.
The winner will receive a €1,500 prize and the opportunity to illustrate the book in collaboration with its publisher. Interested participants can find contest guidelines and application details on the BOCCF’s website and social media pages.
