Faneromeni26 Arts Festival concludes with Ledra’s Lament live performance at Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation
The Faneromeni26 Arts Festival wraps up with a unique contemporary live performance titled Ledra’s Lament on September 10 at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation in Nicosia. This final event of the summer-long festival combines music, dance, design, and drag art in a cross-communal and non-narrative show starting at 8:30 pm. Admission is free.
Ledra’s Lament reflects on Nicosia’s historical identity as a city of gardens and its damaged ecosystem, drawing inspiration from the archives and memory of ancient Ledra. Creator and director Kris Muhammed Adem incorporates elements of the ancient Eteocypriot language, which has mostly vanished from public memory, adding a deep cultural layer to the performance.
The event features a diverse ensemble of artists and researchers from various backgrounds, promising an engaging and thought-provoking experience as the festival bids farewell to summer.
