Cyprus, Greece, Egypt Joint Declaration Focuses on Energy Security, Regional Stability, and Cooperation

The Presidents of Egypt and Cyprus and the Prime Minister of Greece issued a Joint Declaration following their Trilateral Summit in El Alamein addressing energy security, economic cooperation, and regional issues. They emphasized energy security as a key pillar of their collaboration, with renewed commitments to expand natural gas cooperation and electrical interconnections, including the GREGY project, to enhance energy integration between the Eastern Mediterranean and European markets.

The leaders reaffirmed their support for peaceful resolutions to the Cyprus issue, the Palestinian question, and regional conflicts in Lebanon and Libya. They condemned actions escalating tensions and threatened regional stability, calling for respect of sovereignty, international law, and UN principles. Humanitarian concerns in Gaza and opposing forced displacement of Palestinians were also highlighted.

Further, the declaration stressed cooperation on water resource management, particularly regarding the Nile, and enhancing economic, trade, and investment ties between the three countries. The leaders committed to strengthening the Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism and promoting stability and prosperity across the region through continued dialogue and coordinated efforts.
