President Christodoulides holds key meetings in New York including with Burnham and Chevron ahead of UN Assembly
President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, is attending the UN General Assembly in New York with a busy schedule. Today, he will participate in the opening plenary session where UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will present the report on activities. Following this, Christodoulides will meet with UK Prime Minister Andrew Burnham at the UN headquarters.
Later in the day, the President has scheduled talks with Javier La Rosa, President of Core Assets and Emerging Markets at Chevron, and with Maria Angela Holguin, the UN Secretary-General's personal envoy for Cyprus. Over the coming days, he will also address the General Assembly, participate in a high-level climate change summit, and meet with other key figures including the UN Secretary-General and representatives from ExxonMobil, China, and Jewish organizations.
The President is accompanied by his Foreign Minister, Government Spokesman, and chief negotiator. His visit will culminate with an honorary dinner hosted by Cypriot diaspora organizations before he returns to Cyprus on the evening of September 26.
