2026 Limassol Wine Festival opens Saturday featuring music, wine, and traditional entertainment for nine days
The 2026 Limassol Wine Festival will officially open on Saturday at 8pm under the Vrakas statue with Communications Minister Evi Tsolaki attending. The nine-day event, running until October 4, promises an extensive program of music, local wines, traditional food, and cultural activities. Mayor Yiannis Armeftis expressed readiness to welcome thousands of visitors to enjoy the festival's rich atmosphere.
Festival highlights include 14 concerts at the Vrakas stage and Municipal Garden Theatre showcasing traditional songs, rembetiko, rock, pop, and tributes to notable Greek and Cypriot composers. Visitors can also experience Cypriot comedy, folklore performances, and sample local wines and cuisine at winery stands. Children have access to various workshops and entertainment such as shadow theatre and juggling.
