DCO to Host Virtual Masterclass Supporting Startups' European Expansion via Cyprus Gateway
The Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO) is positioning Cyprus as a strategic gateway for startups from its member states aiming to expand into the European market. A virtual masterclass scheduled for September 30 will guide startups through opportunities, requirements, and practical approaches to entering and scaling in Europe. The session, organised with 28DIGITAL, will run from 4pm to 5pm Cyprus time and cover market entry strategies, business ecosystems, and lessons from startups already operating in Europe.
Cyprus, a DCO member alongside countries such as Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, is leveraging its EU membership and longstanding relationships with Gulf states to serve as a hub facilitating trade, investment, and business expansion into Europe. Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Stavros Stavrou highlighted that beyond traditional sectors like construction and trade, emerging industries such as technology and financial services also present growth opportunities.
DCO Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya reiterated Cyprus' role as a key link between DCO members and the European market during the 2026 International Digital Cooperation Forum. About 60 startups have benefited from DCO initiatives supporting cross-border expansion. The upcoming masterclass aims to further enable startups to identify markets, validate expansion steps, and leverage local partners and networks to accelerate European market entry.
