Man arrested in Cyprus for illegal employment and residence after attacking police officers
A 30-year-old man was arrested in Cyprus for illegal employment and illegal residence after a confrontation with police officers. Officers visited a barbershop to investigate illegal employment and found the man working there without authorization. Further checks revealed he was also residing in Cyprus illegally.
During the attempted arrest, the man resisted by pushing past officers and fleeing the scene. He was stopped shortly afterward, but then attacked the officers by hitting and biting them. Two officers sustained injuries, including a haematoma, an eye injury, and a dislocated shoulder, and were treated at Nicosia General Hospital.
The Central Nicosia Police Station is currently continuing its investigation into the incident.
