First Russian-Cypriot Cinema Days to showcase contemporary films in Nicosia on September 25-26
The inaugural Russian-Cypriot Cinema Days festival will take place at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Nicosia on September 25 and 26, presenting contemporary Russian and Cypriot feature and short films. The event aims to foster cultural dialogue and connections between filmmakers and audiences from both countries.
The festival opens with the Cypriot feature film "Smaragda – I Got Thick Skin and I Can’t Jump," directed by Emilios Avraam and winner of Best Cypriot Film at the Cyprus Film Days festival. Screenings will include Greek films with Russian subtitles and Russian films with English subtitles, followed by opportunities to engage with filmmakers.
On the second day, a short film competition organized into three thematic sections will be held, culminating in an awards ceremony and a closing film, the 2025 Russian romantic comedy "You Drive Me Crazy" by Daria Lebedeva. The festival venue is located at 16 Alasias Street in Nicosia.
