ArtCargo Performing Arts Festival debuts in Nicosia with international street performances and installations
The ArtCargo Performing Arts Festival is landing in Nicosia for the first time, bringing a dynamic lineup of nine productions and 43 performances from artists representing nine countries. From October 16 to 25, public spaces across Cyprus' capital will transform into stages for large-scale outdoor spectacles and intimate site-specific works, engaging passersby with unexpected artistic encounters.
Featuring contributions from Cyprus, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Argentina, Catalonia, and Japan, the festival includes a variety of performances such as a new media art project by Panos Malactos, contemporary circus by OLO Company, and a tightrope act accompanied by live rock music from the French company Basinga. A key highlight is the Youth Programme, supported by the VF Foundation, featuring 11-year-old Japanese trickline athlete Kanon Ito, the world No. 1 in women's freestyle tricklining, who will perform live and lead a masterclass.
ArtCargo aims to make art accessible by bringing performances directly into everyday public spaces throughout Nicosia. Supported by Exness, Mellow, and bbf, all festival events are free, underscoring the mission to create cultural experiences for all communities and foster international artistic collaborations.
