Traffic diversions on Limassol–Paphos motorway and Nicosia’s Christofias Avenue due to roadworks
Motorists should expect significant traffic disruptions on major routes across Cyprus this week as the Public Works Department undertakes essential road resurfacing and infrastructure projects. The Limassol–Paphos motorway (A6) will see extended closures near Kouklia from September 22 to 25, with traffic diverted onto two-way carriageways. Additionally, the Petra tou Romiou exit section will be closed on September 21, rerouting vehicles onto the old Paphos–Limassol road (B6).
In Nicosia, Christofias Avenue will undergo overnight closures on September 23, affecting all four lanes between Dimitrios Avenue and Anexartisias Avenue. Access restrictions will also be in place for through traffic in parts of the city. Larnaca will experience lane closures on the Larnaca–Nicosia motorway on September 27 for the installation of a weigh-in-motion system.
The Public Works Department has apologised for any inconvenience caused and urges drivers to comply with temporary signage and police instructions to ensure safety during these maintenance works.
