Nine arrested and over 900 checks conducted during police operations across Cyprus
Cyprus police conducted extensive preventive operations nationwide last night, resulting in nine arrests for various offenses including robbery, illegal residency, refusal to provide breath samples, and assault on officers. The operations led to over 900 checks, involving 680 drivers and 204 passengers, alongside inspections of 36 establishments.
Traffic violations were a major focus, with 346 traffic offenses recorded, including 185 speed limit breaches. Six vehicles were detained as part of the investigations. Alcohol and drug roadside tests were also carried out, leading to five alcohol-related citations and one positive drug test result.
The police emphasized that these interventions aim to prevent serious crimes, maintain public order, and enhance community safety. Increased patrols and targeted checks will continue daily to ensure public protection and order throughout the country.
