Transport Minister Evanthia Tsolaki visits DP World Limassol terminal to discuss port operations and future plans
Transport Minister Evanthia Tsolaki made her first visit to DP World Limassol’s terminal at Limassol Port since taking office, meeting with representatives from DP World Limassol and P&O Maritime to discuss the terminal’s operations and development. The visit highlighted Limassol Port’s crucial role as a gateway for trade, tourism, and connectivity in Cyprus.
Tsolaki toured the terminal facilities and was briefed on the infrastructure, daily commercial activities, and services supporting maritime and tourism sectors, including the Limassol Cruise Terminal. The cruise operations are vital to growing Cyprus’ cruise sector and enhancing its standing as an Eastern Mediterranean tourism destination.
During her visit, Tsolaki also toured aboard a P&O Maritime tugboat to learn about marine operations ensuring the safe movement of vessels. DP World Limassol handles various port services such as cruise traffic, general cargo, and roll-on/roll-off shipments, contributing significantly to the economy and employment. Both parties emphasized ongoing cooperation to strengthen Limassol’s position as a leading port and cruise hub in the region.
