Transport Minister Tsolaki visits Eurogate Container Terminal to strengthen Cyprus maritime trade cooperation
Transport Minister Evanthia Tsolaki visited the Eurogate Container Terminal Limassol (Eurogate CTL) at Limassol port on Friday to discuss key issues affecting Cyprus' maritime trade sector. The visit marked her first official meeting with Eurogate executives since taking over the Transport, Communications and Works portfolio in August. During the visit, Eurogate's COO Alexandros Demetriades briefed the minister on the terminal's operations and current challenges, followed by a tour showcasing infrastructure upgrades and expansion projects.
Tsolaki emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the ministry and Eurogate, promising to schedule further meetings to address port industry matters in greater detail. Demetriades expressed satisfaction with the ongoing collaboration, highlighting the shared goal of enhancing Cyprus' maritime ecosystem. Eurogate Container Terminal Limassol Ltd operates the container terminal at Limassol port and employs around 200 people locally.
